AI and Automation Disclosure

Why we publish this

AI can be useful in business systems, and it can also be misunderstood or misused. We want our clients and website visitors to understand how we approach it.

How AI may be used in our services

Where it creates measurable value and can be deployed responsibly, we may build systems that use AI to:

  • sort and classify incoming enquiries;
  • extract information from documents for a person to verify;
  • prepare draft reports or summaries for human review;
  • suggest responses to customer support staff;
  • summarise internal records;
  • identify unusual patterns in business data for investigation;
  • help staff find information in an organisation’s own knowledge base;
  • automate repetitive administrative tasks.

We do not recommend AI where a simpler process or conventional system would serve the business better.

Human oversight

AI supports people. It does not replace their judgement or their responsibility. In every system we design, a named person or role is accountable for decisions and for reviewing AI outputs before they are relied on. AI is never presented as an independent professional adviser, and in legal and professional services it never replaces the judgement of a qualified professional.

Data privacy

We design AI features with data protection in mind, including the Data Protection Act, 2019. We do not use confidential client information or personal data in external AI systems without appropriate authorisation from the client and suitable safeguards, such as contractual protections, data minimisation and controls on retention and model training.

Accuracy limitations

AI outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, and they can appear confident when they are wrong. We do not guarantee that AI outputs are free from error. Systems we build include review steps appropriate to the risk of the task.

Responsible use

We consider the risks of each AI application before recommending it, including accuracy, fairness, privacy and security. We explain how each feature works in terms our clients can understand, and we agree with them how it will be monitored.
